Happy Ray #3: Beatboxing, Ave Maria and Bobby McFerrin

Beatboxing is a joyful musical art form where breath combines with voice and body to create acoustic and musical rhythms and melodies. No other instruments are required. If you’ve never tried beatboxing, here is your chance. Teehee!!!!! WeeeeeeeeeEEEEEEE!

Bobby McFerrin is one of the greatest beatboxers of all time: Bobby is a genuine lover of life and an exemplary example of using the gifts and talents he was born to use to SHINE and make the world a more beautiful place! (Who can forget his classic great Don’t Worry, Be Happy?)

Here in this video, Bobby collaborates with his audience to create an unforgettable rendition of the Bach-Gounod “Ave Maria”. Exquisite, joyful noises. Turn up your speakers and be prepared for some goosebumps. Oh, and DO sing along with lyrics below.

Ave Maria, gratia plena
Dominus tecum
Benedicta tu in mulieribus
Et benedictus fructus ventris tui, Jesus.
Sancta Maria, Sancta Maria, Maria.
Ora pro nobis peccatoribus
Nunc, et in hora mortis nostrae.
Amen, Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace
The Lord is with you,
Blessed are you among women,
And blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Pray for us sinners,
Now and at the hour of our death.
Amen, Amen.

by Charles Gounod
